Matthew 7:1-6
We sometimes judge others out of self righteousness. It makes us feel better about ourselves. We belittle others to lift ourselves up. As believers, we are called to tell the truth and stand for truth. We are called to judge. . .in the right attitude and in love. We are called to take a stand! That is not being judgemental. It’s being truthful. As believers, we have to discern and challenge. We love unconditionally, but we don’t love the sin. The issue with judging is having sin in our own lives, yet calling someone out for the sin in their lives. That’s judgemental. When we judge, we see the worse in others. We’re not looking to restore them back to God. We’re looking at their faults and our motives aren’t right. We need to consider ourselves. We mut have the same kindness, mercy, and compassion for others that God has for us. We must not be arrogant! We will all stand before God on our own, so we must be careful not to condemn. We will be judged by the same attitude we judge others. We need to remember, it’s a soul that needs salvation. Our heart should turn to prayer. Our judgemental attitudes can destyroy. Let’s be very careful! Let’s remember. . .it’s a soul!
