Humility

Humility

1 Peter 5:5,6

Leaders and elders are to set the example. . .not just in the church, but in their lives. It’s about how we serve! Everyone in leadership needs to see the importance of how we act, in and out of church. Our reward is seeing people come to the Lord and seeing relationships restored. It has nothing to do with our “titles”. The older people should teach the younger. We need to share our life’s experiences. . .share our wisdom. Just because we may be older, God still wants to use us! We still have work to do! We must be submissive to one another. We should serve one another. There should be a genuine love for one another. We need to hold one another accountable. We all need to humble ourselves and have a Christ-centered heart for each other. Pride and grace cannot mix. They are enemies. Pride is a killer and God is at war with it. Pride causes us to see faults in others, but not in ourselves. God hates pride! It’s hard to be submissive to one another when we’re not totally submissive to God. He knows our hearts and our motives. How are we living our lives? Let’s put others before ourselves and think of others better than ourselves. God will exalt us in due time!
