Text: Galatians 5:16-18
What does it mean to walk in the Spirit? It’s a continual lifestyle. . .our minds, our emotions, and our actions. It’s a “faith walk”. We have to believe that once we received Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit came to live in us and changed our wicked hearts. We cannot keep ourselves. We need the Power of the Spirit working in us. The Holy Spirit is our guide. He is leading us to spiritual maturity. That’s how we grow in the things of God! When we follow the Holy Spirit, there is a promise. . . we won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh! When we follow the Holy Spirit, we will not go back to the way things were. We will not go back to the things we’ve been delivered from. The “faith walk” is a practical life. It’s who we are and what we do. There is a war going on between the flesh and the Spirit. There will always be this conflict. It’s up to us to yield to the Spirit. There is no “halfway” living. We need to choose who we will serve. . .the flesh or the Spirit.
Our prayer should be: “Holy Spirit, we need You and we need Your guidance. Keep us on course. Lead us and we will follow.” Amen
