Text: Judges 6:11-24
How many of us know that before success, before we move forward, there is a starting point in our lives? Before Peter became the Rock, he was Simon, strong-willed, impulsive and brash. Before Paul, the great apostle, was Saul who persecuted the church. Before Gideon became the great man of God, a warrior, he was afraid. . .he was scared. That fear caused him to hide. Sometimes we are like that. . .too afraid to pray out loud. . . so we don’t! Too afraid to share the gospel. . .so we don’t! We can be so caught up in our fear, that we fail to hear the voice of God. That fear can cause us to start blaming God when trials and tests come. But, God allows those things to happen to draw us back to Him. He sees us as mighty men and women of God. He sees us beyond where we’re at. Someone may say to you, “You’ll never amount to anything!” But, God says, “You’re the one I want to use!” We may be wondering how we can make a difference in this crazy world, but God says, “I will be with you!”
We need to move on what God says, not on our emotions, circumstances, or what others say. God takes the undereducated, the shy, and the ordinary people and raises them up to do His work. We are chosen and we are called to do His work.
When was the last time you shared the Gospel with someone? It’s time to get out of our comfort zone and live the Christian life God has called us to!
