Text: Luke 17:20-37
We are in the days of Noah. There is something that has come over our nation. “Materialism”, “the easiness of getting sucked into the world and worshiping things that are not godly”, the easiness of ignoring Jesus and not making Him the center our our lives”. . .that kind of spirit. There comes a point in our Christian walk when we hit rock bottom. We keep praying for forgiveness for the idols we cling to, yet we keep clinging on to them. One more time going to the altar and asking for forgiveness until there are no words left. What else can we do? What else can we say? Lord, how can we keep ourselves pure in the days of Noah? When we pray and Jesus answers, He is planting seeds in our hearts. Don’t forget about them or neglect them. Keep seeking the Lord? Right now the Lord is telling us to build a boat. Grow the Kingdom. One way to do this is by tithing. Worship the Lord with our finances. God says if we do this, He will bless us. By tithing, we are saying, “We trust You, Lord, with our finances.” God promises to help us in our weakness. We need to get weak, even in our finances. So, let’s be the head and not the tail. Let’s start building our boats, beginning with our finances. He is Faithful!
