Text: Genesis 35:1-10
Remember your first love? We would do everything we could to please them. But, as time goes on, that would sometimes fade. It’s the same as when we first found Christ. We were so excited! We were praying all the time, worshipping Him all day long, and couldn’t wait to go to church! We were just so happy! But, that too, sometimes dwindles down. We are too tired to pray, too busy to go to church, and God doesn’t excite us like He used to. We were so excited about our salvation, but then we start taking it for granted. Sometimes we get to a place in our lives when we’re unconcerned. That’s when we need to pray and ask God to take us back to our first love. We need to go back to where we started. To start over with God, we may need to get rid of a few things. . .the things that are keeping us from reaching the potential that God has for us. We need to seek God before anything else! Let’s get rid of EVERYTHING that may cause us to fall! God wants to bless us. We all have times of going in the wrong direction, but God is long suffering. He loves us so much that He’ll help us get back on the right path. If we’re not sure what we’re supposed to be doing, we need to seek God. He’ll open doors no man can shut. Don’t let distractions turn us away from what God has for us. Let’s make this year be the year we focus on God and let Him direct our lives!
