Text 1 Peter 5:8-9
When we’re idle, we are not focused. We are open. . .and the devil comes in. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. How many times have we just done things on impulse? We do this when we’re not focused. . .when we’re idle. The devil never stops. He will take us further than we want to go, make us stay longer than we want to stay, and pay more than we want to pay! When we’ve been through trial after trial, the enemy will try to convince us we need to relax and chill. In other words, he wants us to be idle. The world is losing ground when it comes to Christianity. Do we have time to be idle? Do we have time to miss church, not pray, watch tv, spend time on social media? We need to stay focused and continue in the things of God. Satan can deceive the strongest Christian when we are idle and not focused. We must be watchful! We must not allow ourselves to become idle, but stay focused in the battle, for the devil prowls around like a lion to see who he can devour. Let’s stay focused and hold on! Let’s keep our fires burning! After five minutes into eternity, we will be glad we did!
