Text: 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
We need to start this new year with a heart that wants to be right with God. Instead of coming to church with a heart of worship, we come with a “drive-through” order. . .who’s speaking? what songs will we be singing? how long will the service be? It’s not about us! We have a tendancy to walk in the flesh. We have to understand how to fight this battle so we can have the victory. The enemy knows that if he can get us to not believe what was done at the cross, he has us bound! The cross set us free! Now, we have to walk in the spirit. The devil’s job is to keep us in the flesh. . .to keep us the way we were. If we don’t feed our minds what is right, our spirit will get weaker and our flesh will get stronger. What are you feeding your mind? What are you letting in?
God wants us to get to a place where we are no longer controlled by the flesh. We have to make a conscious effort to die to self. The enemy doesn’t care where and how we spend our time, as long as it isn’t in church or in the Word.
Have you made up your mind to walk in the spirit? Have you made up your mind to starve the flesh and feed the spirit? There is no more time to “play” church. We need to get right with God!
